Dec 2023 A project application was lodged with Merredin Shire Council.
Apr 2024 The WA Regional Development Assessment Panel approved the project.
Mar 2025 AEMO Services, on behalf of the Federal Government, announced that the 100-megawatt / 400-megawatt hour Boddington Giga Battery was a successful applicant for the Capacity Investment Scheme Tender Round Two – Wholesale Electricity Market Dispatchable. The Federal Government will provide revenue underwriting for successful projects through Capacity Investment Scheme Agreements.
