Mt Fyans Wind Farm

The Mt Fyans Wind Farm is a proposed renewable energy project located within Victoria's Southwest Renewable Energy Zone. The scope of the project includes:

  • 81 turbines
  • 400 megawatt (MW) generation capacity, and
  • 18 kilometres of overhead transmission lines to the Mortlake substain.

PROJECT HISTORY

Aug 2018 A planning application was submitted to DELWP for approval.
Apr 2020 The Federal Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water confirmed the project would be subject to assessment through the EPBC Portal.
Nov 2022 A variation of proposal was submitted to the EPBC Portal, outlining a reduction in wind turbines from 85 to 81.
Nov 2022 An amended planning application was submitted to the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) for approval.
Aug 2025 The Victorian Department of Transport and Planning granted development approval to the project.
