PROJECT HISTORY

Nov 2022 The Muchea Battery received development approval from the WA Regional Joint Development Assessment Panel.
Mar 2025 AEMO Services, on behalf of the Federal Government, announced that the 150-megawatt / 615-megawatt hour Muchea Battery was a successful applicant for the Capacity Investment Scheme Tender Round Two – Wholesale Electricity Market Dispatchable. The Federal Government will provide revenue underwriting for successful projects through Capacity Investment Scheme Agreements.
Oct 2025 Project developers Neoen announced that UGL had been awarded the contract to deliver the project, and notices to commence construction had been issued.
