The Muswellbrook Solar Farm is a 135-megawatt solar farm and 135-megawatt / 270 megawatt-hour battery to be located in Muswellbrook, NSW.

The project is to be located within the Hunter Central Coast Renewable Energy Zone. It will connect to NSW’s electricity network via a tee connection into the existing 132 kV overhead line to the west of the site. This will require construction of approximately 2.4 km of 132 kV overhead line and a 132 kV switching yard.

PROJECT HISTORY

Sep 2022 SEARs were issued for the project.
May 2025 The project received NSW Government planning approval.
Aug 2025 The project received Federal Government EPBC approval.
Jan 2026 OX2 announced that an Equans Solar and Storage and Bouygues Construction Joint Venture had been selected as the preferred EPC contractor for the project.
