| Procurement note: | The project was initially procured as a part of the Queensland Government's Capacity Expansion Project (CEP). CEP projects were procured using a Pre-Qualified Panel model. Under the model, interested parties submitted EOIs outlining the list of projects or ‘bundles of projects’ they wished to participate in. Contractors successfully appointed to the panel were then selected to participate in a Request for Tenders phase for particular projects, or packages of projects. The project is intended to be delivered under a two-stage Managing Contractor model, with Stage One including design works and Stage Two including a separate main works delivery contract. Following an independent review of the CEP, and subsequent release of the Government's updated program the Hospital Rescue Plan, the project was subject to further planning and redesign. |

The Government has accepted the recommendation and has committed to delivering 600 beds at the Coomera Hospital – rather than 400 beds at Coomera supplemented by 200 leased beds at Robina Hospital. The Review also confirmed the project's total estimated cost, as originally scoped, has increased from $1.3 billion to $2.3 billion, however, this is subject to change through the re-planning process. |
