The Victorian Government's Next Generation Trams project will see:
- the delivery of 100 Next Generation Trams for Melbourne's Tram network, and
- the establishment of a tram maintenance and stabling facility on a vacant site in Maidstone near Highpoint Shopping Centre in Melbourne's west.

In its 2020-21 Budget, the Victorian government committed $1.5 billion for the project. The 2021-22 Victorian Budget allocated an additional $368 million to deliver enabling infrastructure for the project, including a new tram maintenance facility in Melbourne's north west. |
