The North Brisbane Bruce Highway Western Alternative project would provide a new transport corridor between Beerburrum and north Brisbane, totaling approximately 57 kilometres in length.
The project is proposed to be delivered across four stages:
- Stage One includes approximately 8.3 kilometres of highway between Moodlu and Moorina, would run south from the D'Aguilar Highway to Caboolture River Road
- Stage Two of the project includes approximately 15 kilometres of highway south of Caboolture West, between Moorina Narangba
- Stage Three would run between Narangba to Bald Hills, and
- Stage Four would run between Beerburrum to Moodlu.

Jun 2021 | The Queensland Government announced the project and proposed three route options for Stage One, an eastern, central and western option. |
Nov 2021 | The Queensland Government announced the preferred route for Stage One of the project - the central option. The central option is approximately 8.3 kilometres in length and starts from the D’Aguilar Highway and travels south towards Caboolture River Road, following the existing power easement. The Department of Transport and Main Roads also announced that public consultation for Stage Two would commence in early 2022. |
Jul 2022 | The Queensland Government commenced public consultation on Stage Two of the project, proposing two options for the northern and southern sections of the alignment. |
Dec 2024 | The Queensland Government announced they are exploring an alternative alignment for Stage Four of the project, with the original corridor options ruled out. |
