The North Queensland Super Hub (NQSH) will be a 10-gigawatt (GW) renewable energy precinct, proposed in partnership between Fortescue Future Industries (FFI) and WindLab. The hub will be located within the Northern Queensland Renewable Energy Zone.
The first stage of the hub will provide 1.8 GW of energy through the:
- 800-megawatt Prairie Wind Farm project, and
- 1,000-megawatt Wongalee project.

Dec 2023 | The draft 2024 Integrated System Plan identifies an extension of the Hub as a future ISP project. The North Queensland Energy Hub Expansion would allow additional renewable generation to be dispatched in North Queensland Clean Energy Hub REZ. The optimal timing has been identified as 2042-43, with the earliest feasible delivery date being 2030-31. The estimated cost is $651 million (+/- 30%). |
