Sydney Water announced plans to connect three water recovery facilities in North West Sydney to deliver the North West Treatment Hub. The full scope of the project includes:
- construction of a 6.3-kilometre pipeline between Rouse Hill and Riverstone Water Resource Recovery facilities,
- construction of a 10.2-kilometre pipeline between Castle Hill and Rouse Hill Water Resource Recovery facilities, and
- upgrades to Castle Hill, Rouse Hill and Riverstone Water Resource Recovery facilities.
Upgrades to Rouse Hill are being undertaken in stages, with Fulton Hogan delivering the first stages and a John Holland, Stantec and KBR partnership continuing the upgrade.

May 2024 | Sydney Water awarded a John Holland, Stantec, and KPB partnership the primary $595 million contract to upgrade Rouse Hill and Riverstone Water Resource Recovery Facilities. John Holland announced a construction commencement date in late-2024. |
