Northern Tablelands Wind Farm

The Northern Tablelands Wind Farm is proposed to deliver up to 608 megawatts of wind generation through 76 turbines, supported by a Battery Energy Storage System with a capacity of up to 800 MW / 1,000 MWh. The project will include substations, switching yards, operations and maintenance facilities, internal access roads, and transmission infrastructure to connect into EnergyCo’s New England REZ North Hub.

PROJECT HISTORY

Jul 2023 Origin purchased the Warrane property in July 2023 with a view of developing a potential wind farm development.
Sep 2025 Origin Energy lodged a Scoping Report with the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure.
Sep 2025 The project was referred to the EPBC portal for assessment.
