Northland Dry Dock Project

The Dry Dock Project is planned to comprise delivery of:

  • a 250-metre floating dry dock
  • associated dredging and reclamation
  • dry dock core services, including reticulated services (fresh and cooling water supplies, shore power and waste and wash-water collection and treatment)
  • stores and hardstand areas for dry dock equipment, including the cranes, dock block marshalling and access ramps, and
  • maritime marine core facilities.

PROJECT HISTORY

Sep 2022 A Request for Proposal (RFP) was released for the business case for the project, closing on the 4th of November.
Dec 2022 PwC was awarded the contract to deliver the business case for the dry dock.
Mar 2025 The New Zealand Government commenced a Registrations of Interest (ROIs) process for an Early Contractor Involvement contract to deliver the project, closing 2 April. Successful candidates will proceed to a Request for Proposal round.
