Oxley Solar Farm

The proposed Oxley Solar Farm would be a 225 megawatt (MW) solar farm and 50 megawatt-hour (MWh) battery located approximately 12 kilometres south-east of Armidale in NSW. The overall proposal site for Oxley Solar Farm (the Project) is approximately 1,048 hectares with a Development Footprint of approximately 267 hectares. 

The project includes the construction of a 132 kV substation in the vicinity of the existing 132 kV transmission lines. The project will be located in the NSW New England Renewable Energy Zone.

PROJECT HISTORY

Nov 2018 Oxley Solar Development Pty Ltd registered as a company.
Jun 2019 The project's scoping report was submitted to, and SEARs requested from the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment.
Aug 2019 The project was awarded 'State Significant Development' status by the NSW Government. The NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment Secretary's Environmental Assessment Requirements (SEARs) were also issued for the preparation of the project's Environmental Impact Assessment.
Mar 2021 The Environmental Impact Statement for the project was put on public exhibition, closing 14 April.
May 2022 Oxley Solar Development submits project update identifying significant redesign of project to reduce environmental impacts including use of fewer solar panels which may affect megawatt capacity.
Dec 2023 The project received State Significant Development planning approval from the NSW Department of Planning and Environment.
