Pacific Highway Upgrade - Wyong Town Centre

The Pacific Highway is being upgraded through the Wyong Town Centre. 

Included in the scope of the project is:

  • approximately 2.5 kilometres of dual lanes each way between Johnson Road at Tuggerah and Cutler Drive at Wyong
  • replacement of the Wyong Road Bridge with two new road bridges
  • replacement of the Rose Street rail bridge
  • signalise the Rose Street, Anzac Avenue, North Road and Cutler drive intersections
  • integration of the railway station with bus and taxi services, and
  • construction of short-term and disabled parking.

PROJECT HISTORY

Mar 2022 The Federal Government allocated $336 million to the project in its 2022-23 Budget.
Jun 2022 The 2022-23 NSW Budget allocated $149 million over the next four years, including $1 million in FY2022-23 to the Wyong Town Centre Upgrade.
Feb 2025 Infrastructure NSW released updated procurement and delivery timelines for the project. Procurement for the project was scheduled to commence in the second quarter of 2025, with a contract expected to be awarded in the third quarter of 2026. Construction is scheduled to commence by the end of 2027 and be completed by the end of 2031.
May 2025 Transport for NSW has issued a Request for Tender (RFT) for transaction management and commercial services to support procurement of the project. RFTs close 26 May.
Jul 2025 Transport for NSW opened Expressions of Interest for delivery of the project, closing 13 August. Shortlisted respondents will progress to a Request for Tenders phase. The shortlist is expected to be announced by September, and the contract awarded in mid-2026.
Jul 2025 Infrastructure NSW released an updated timeline for the project in its 2025 Major Projects Pipeline. Construction is expected to commence Q3 2027 and reach completion Q3 2031.
