The Piambong Wind Farm, proposed by Vestas, includes a wind generation and storage project to be located approximately 20 kilometres northwest of Mudgee. The scope of the works include:
- 81 turbines with a capacity of up to 551 megwatts (MW)
- a battery energy storage system with a capacity of approximately 100 MW / 200 megawatt hours, and
- permanent and temporary ancillary infrastructure.
The project will be located in the Central West Orana Renewable Energy Zone.
