Pottinger Solar Farm

The Pottinger Solar Farm, proposed by Someva Renewables, is a generation and storage project to be located around 60 kilometres south of Hay, NSW. The scope of the works includes:

  • approximately 750,000 panels with a total generation capacity of 300 megawatts (MW)
  • a Solar Power Conversion Unit, and
  • a Battery Energy Storage System with 500 MW / two gigawatt hours capacity which will be shared with Pottinger Wind Farm.

The project site is located within the South West Renewable Energy Zone.

PROJECT HISTORY

Jun 2023 Someva Renewables published a scoping report and request for the SEARs for the project.
Jul 2023 The NSW Planning Secretary's Environmental Assessment Requirements (SEARs) were issued for the project.
