Pottinger Wind Farm

The Pottinger Wind Farm, proposed by Someva Renewables, is a generation and storage project to be located around 60 kilometres south of Hay, NSW.

The scope of the works includes:

  • up to 108 turbines with total generation capacity of 750 megawatts (MW), and
  • a Battery Energy Storage System with 500 MW / two gigawatt hours (GWh) capacity, that will be shared with Pottinger Solar Farm.

The project site is located within the South West Renewable Energy Zone.

PROJECT HISTORY

Jun 2023 Someva Renewables lodged a scoping report for the project alongside a Request for SEARs to the NSW Department of Planning and Environment.
Jul 2023 The NSW Planning Secretary's Environmental Assessment Requirements (SEARs) were issued for the project.
