Pottinger Wind Farm

The Pottinger Wind Farm, part of the Pottinger Energy Park, will include:

  • up to 247 turbines with total generation capacity of 1.3 gigawatts, and
  • a Battery Energy Storage System with 500 megawatts / two gigawatt hours capacity, that will be shared with Pottinger Solar Farm.

PROJECT HISTORY

Jun 2023 Someva Renewables lodged a scoping report for the project alongside a Request for SEARs to the NSW Department of Planning and Environment.
Jul 2023 SEARs were issued for the project.
Mar 2024 Supplementary NSW Planning Secretary's Environmental Assessment Requirements (SEARs) were issued for the project.
Jun 2024 The project's Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) was placed on public exhibition, closing 4 July. The EIS detailed a revised scope with total generation capacity increased to 1.3 gigawatts from 750 megawatts.
