The Puketoi Wind Farm is a proposed 228-megawatt, 53-turbine wind farm located in the Puketoi Range near Pahiatua, New Zealand. The wind farm would connect to existing grid infrastructure via a new 37 kilometre 220 kilovolt transmission line.

Jul 2023 | Mercury New Zealand announced their intention to build a wind farm on a site in the Puketoi Range near Pahiatua. |
Oct 2024 | The New Zealand Government announced a Schedule of 22 renewable energy projects to be included in its Fast Track Approvals Bill with a combined three-gigawatt capacity. The Bill was introduced into the NZ Parliament in March to give effect to a new streamlined approvals process for major infrastructure and other projects with ‘significant regional or national benefits’. The Puketoi Wind Farm was included in the list of projects. |
