Richmond Road is an arterial road linking Richmond and Blacktown in Sydney's north-west. The road has been progressively upgraded to service growth in the area.
Upgrades are being undertaken across two main sections of Richmond Road:
- M7 Motorway to Townson Road: widening the 2.2-kilometre section to six lanes and building a new off-ramp bridge to connect Richmond Road to Westlink M7, and
- north of Elara Boulevard, Marsden Park: widening a section of approximately 900 metre section towards Heritage Road to four lanes, widening the central median to allow for six lanes in future, and new traffic lights 800 metres north of Elara Boulevard.
