The proposed SA Offshore Windfarm will have a generation capacity of up to 600 megawatts (MW) and is to be located off the coast of South Australia, approximately 10 kilometres off the coast from Kingston SE and 230 kilometres from Adelaide. The facility will comprise up to 75 wind turbines and is proposed by SA Offshore Windfarm, a subsidiary of Australis Energy.
Key features of the SA Offshore Windfarm project include:
- up to 75 offshore wind turbine generators, with individual capacity of between eight and 15MW, and
- supporting offshore and onshore electrical assets to connect to either the Black Range or South East substation.
