Saddletop Wind Farm

The Saddletop Wind Farm, located near Lake Burrinjuck in Southern NSW, is a proposed 738MW wind farm to be developed by Squadron Energy.

The full scope of the project includes delivery of:

  • a 123 turbine wind farm, with generating capacity of 738 MW
  • a 150 MW / 600 MWh Battery Energy Storage System
  • up to three collector substations and one switching substation
  • transmission connections, and
  • enabling infrastructure.

The project would connect to the National Energy Market via either the 330kV Yass to Upper Tumut line, or 550kV Humelink project.

PROJECT HISTORY

Oct 2025 Squadron Energy lodged a scoping report and request for SEARs with the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure.
Nov 2025 The NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure issued SEARs to the project.
