PROJECT STATUS
Detailed Planning
Saltbush Wind Farm

Saltbush Wind Farm is a proposed 400 megawatt (MW) wind farm development, comprising up to 68 wind turbines of up to 280 metres tip height. The project site will also feature a battery energy storage system (BESS) with a capacity of up to a 600 MW / 1200 MWh.

Project works will also include ancillary infrastructure including access tracks, underground and overhead electricity cabling, a substation and grid connection to the transmission network.

The developer, Octopus Australia, also plans to add a solar farm to the site, but did not initially seek approval to build this component.

Located in the South West Renewable Energy Zone (SW REZ) in Booroorban, New South Wales, the project is approximately 76 kilometres north of Deniliquin, 49 kilometres south of Hay, and 80 kilometres east of Moulamein.

The developer is planning to build the Merino Wind Farm on an adjacent site.
