Stockyard Wind Farm

The Stockyard Hill Wind Farm is a 400-megawatt wind farm located 35 kilometres west of Ballarat, Victoria.

The scope of the project includes the construction of 149 wind turbines and supporting transmission infrastructure.

PROJECT HISTORY

Oct 2010 The Victorian Minister for Planning granted planning approval for the Stockyard Hill Wind Farm.
Feb 2011 The Commonwealth Department of Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Communities granted project approval under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999.
Jun 2017 The Victorian GOvernment approved a planning approval amendment, increasing the tip height of the wind turbines from 132 metres to 180 metres.
Apr 2018 Construction commenced on the project.
Dec 2020 Construction and installation of the turbines on the site complete.
May 2022 The Australian Energy Market Operator and Network Services Provider approved the project to generate up to 400-megawatts into the National Electricity Market.
