Yancoal is proposing to develop the Stratford Renewable Energy Hub (SREH) at the site of the Stratford Mining Complex following the scheduled completion of mining in 2024.
The proposed SREH includes construction of a 300 megawatt (MW) / 3,600 megawatt hour (MWh) pumped hydro energy storage system and a 330 MW solar farm.
Construction of the project would comprise:
- construction of an upper reservoir
- reconfiguration of existing Stratford East Dam to act as a lower reservoir
- construction of solar farm
- substation
