Sundown Solar Farm

The Sundown Solar Farm development is a proposed 360 megawatt (MW) photovoltaic array to be located approximately 30km east of Inverell, NSW. The scope of the works includes:

  • 660,000 solar panels for the intended 360 MW generation capacity
  • a 150 MW / 4 hour battery storage system
  • a 330kV onsite substation, and 
  • other ancillary works for the delivery and maintenance of the project. 

PROJECT HISTORY

Nov 2017 A scoping report was released for the project alongside a request for the Secretary's Environmental Assessment Requirements (SEARs).
Aug 2020 SEARs were issued for the project.
Aug 2022 Supplementary SEARs were issued for the project.
Jul 2023 The Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) was placed on public exhibition, closing 3 August.
