The Swallow Tail Battery is a 300 MW / 1.2 GWh Battery Energy Storage System proposed by Ampyr Energy. The project is expected to connect to the National Electricty Market via the Transgrid - Bannaby Substation, 30 kilometres west of Bowral, NSW.

Nov 2024 A scoping report and request for SEARs was submitted to the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure.
Dec 2024 The NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure issued SEARs for the project.
Sep 2025 The project was awarded a Capacity Investment Scheme Agreement as part of the Capacity Investment Scheme Tender Round Three.
