The Central Walk and Metro upgrade (Central Station Main Works - CSM) contract is for the connection of the new Sydney Metro to existing Central Station transit services.
The project includes:

Construction of new underground Sydney Metro platforms beneath platforms 13, 14, and 15.

Development of Central Walk, a 19-metre-wide underground concourse connecting Chalmers Street to the suburban rail platforms, Sydney Metro platforms, light rail, and buses.

Upgrades to the northern concourse, featuring a new roof canopy and improved pedestrian thoroughfares.

Installation of escalators and lifts providing direct access to platforms 12 to 23.
