Bus services in the Greater Sydney Metropolitan area are divided into 15 regions, serviced by individual contracts. Historically, these contracts have been operated by a combination of the State Transit Authority and private operators.
Bus Contract Five covers the south western suburbs between Strathfield, Bankstown and Hurstville.
Contract Five will be procured as part of Transport for NSW's upcoming procurement processes for 10 out of the 14 Greater Sydney Metropolitan Bus Contracts.
The contract will be procured in Tranche Two alongside Contract Three, 10 and 13. Transport for NSW have indicated that all four contracts can be procured together in a joint bid.
