The NSW Government have re-tendered the mainatenace contracts for Sydney's road assests. The current contracts for maintenance of Sydney roads will expire in mid-2021.The contracts are divided into three zones:
- West Zone: 849 kilometres of roads
- River Zone: 783 kilometres of roads, and
- East Zone: 971 kilometres of roads.
The future contracts will be outcomes-based. A framework is being applied to drive outcomes that are:
- customer-focused
- innovative
- sustainable
- based on safety and performance, and
- designed to create successful places.
The NSW Government indicated that average annual contract values will be between $200-300 million.
The contracts will last for nine years with a possible extension to 15 years.
