Sydney Roads Asset Performance Contracts

The NSW Government have re-tendered the mainatenace contracts for Sydney's road assests. The current contracts for maintenance of Sydney roads will expire in mid-2021.The contracts are divided into three zones:

  • West Zone: 849 kilometres of roads
  • River Zone: 783 kilometres of roads, and
  • East Zone: 971 kilometres of roads.

The future contracts will be outcomes-based. A framework is being applied to drive outcomes that are:

  • customer-focused
  • innovative
  • sustainable
  • based on safety and performance, and
  • designed to create successful places.

The NSW Government indicated that average annual contract values will be between $200-300 million.

The contracts will last for nine years with a possible extension to 15 years.

Nov 2019 Transport for NSW held the third industry briefing.
