The Tarong West Wind Farm is a proposed project being developed by the Queensland Government-owned Stanwell Corporation.
The project would have a total output of 436.5 megawatts (MW), generated by 97 turbines. The project would be located at Ironpot, 30 kilometres south-west of Kingaroy, within the Southern Queensland Renewable Energy Zone in the South Burnett region.

Aug 2024 | The Queensland Government announced their approval of the project through the State Assessment and Referral Agency application, and that the project would be developed by RES on behalf of Stanwell Corporation. The Queensland Government has committed to provide $776.1 million in funding for the project through its Renewable Energy and Hydrogen Jobs Fund. Construction is expected to commence from 2025. |
