The Tauhei Solar Farm is a 150-MW Solar PV energy facility to be located near Te Aroha, 40 kilometres north-east of Hamilton.

The project is being developed as part of a Joint Venture between First Renewables and Harmony Energy.

PROJECT HISTORY

Jan 2025 Financial close was reached on the project.
Jan 2025 Following financial close on the project, Elecnor announced it had been awarded the contract to deliver the design, supply, and construction works on the project.
Jan 2025 Meridian Energy announced it has signed a power purchase agreement with the Harmony-First Renewables JV for the project. Meridian will purchase 100 per cent of the energy ouptu from the facility for the first 10 years of operation.
2025 Construction commenced on the project.
