Telstra will build and manage the ground infrastructure and fibre network to support the Asia-Pacific region of ViaSat-3: a three-part global satellite system covering the Americas, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific.The contract to operate the network is over a 16.5 year term.
Telstra will co-locate Viasat’s satellite access node equipment at InfraCo-owned sites across Australia. Each site will be connected through high-speed fibre links. The network will connect the satellite access node sites to multiple redundant data centres to manage the expected increase in data traffic.
