Telstra will deliver up to 20,000 kilometres of new ultra-high capacity, low-latency fibre, which will supplement Telstra’s existing fibre network.
The new network will enable significantly increased transmission between capital cities, and is being delivered over separate packages, such as Sydney to Melbourne, Sydney to Brisbane, and Perth to Sydney.
Confirmed packages are spread across two stages.
Stage One:
- Melbourne to Sydney (awarded to Ventia)
- Sydney to Wilmington, SA (awarded to Ventia
- Melbourne to Adelaide (awarded to Fulton Hogan)
- Adelaide to Perth (awarded to Fulton Hogan), and
- Perth to Wilmington, SA (awarded to Fulton Hogan).
Stage Two:
- Darwin to Glendambo, SA (awarded to UGL), and
- Wilmington, SA to Adelaide and on to Melbourne (awarded to UGL).
