Territory Battery

Proposed by Neoen, the Territory Battery is a stand-alone battery facility with up to 300 megawatts / 600 megawatt hours.

The Territory Battery will be located in Ginninderry, ACT, directly south of the Stockdill Substation, approximately three kilometres south of Holt and 15 kilometres northwest of the Canberra CBD.

PROJECT HISTORY

Oct 2022 The Clean Energy Finance Corporation announced it would provide $35.5 million in debt, alongside an additional $35.5 million debt facility by Infradebt.
May 2024 The Federal Government provided conditional approval under the EPBC Act to proceed with the project.
Mar 2025 The project was included in the Federal Government's inaugural Renewable Energy Priority List. The Priority List aims to provide coordinated support through Federal, state and territory regulatory and environmental approval processes on a case-by-case basis and provide a 'faster to yes, faster to no' approach to regulatory approvals.
