The Plains Wind Farm would comprise the construction of a 1,230 megawatt wind turbine wind farm located within the Plains Renewable Energy Park in the NSW South-West Renewable Energy Zone.
The proposed infrastructure components would include:
- 171 wind turbine generators
- electrical reticulation works
- access roads, and
- ancillary infrastructure.

May 2024 | The project's Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) was published and the project placed on exhibition, closing 4 June. The EIS indicated a revised proposal of a 1,350 MW wind farm, reduced from 1,800 MW. |
Aug 2025 | ERM submitted an updated Amendment Report to the NSW Major Projects Portal. The report proposes a reduction in the number of turbines to 171 with a 1.2 GW capacity. |
