The Townsville Correctional Centre Capacity Uplift Project aims to deliver 400 new beds in 200 cells at the existing Townsville Correctional Centre. The full scope of the project includes delivery of:
- a new 200 cell, 400 bed accommodation building consisting of 4 wings of 50 cells/100 beds each,
- a new satellite medical building,
- expansion and upgrades to existing prisoner processing, laundry, and staff dining facilities, and
- electronic security upgrade
