Ulinda Park BESS

Ulinda Park comprises two Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) connecting at Powerlink’s Western Downs 275 kilovolt Terminal Station near Hopeland/Chinchilla.

The project will have a capacity of 350 megawatts (MW) / 1,078 megawatt hours (MWh). It includes two phases:

  • Phase One includes a battery with a 155 MW / 298 MWh capacity.
  • Phase Two includes a battery with a 195 MW / 780 MWh capacity.

The project is being developed by Akaysha Energy.

Financing

The project was part of a portfolio financing arrangement alongside the Brendale BESS. The seven banks financing the project include the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, DBS Bank, ING Bank, Mizuho Bank, MUFG Bank, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, and Rabobank.
