WA New Women and Babies Hospital

Being one of the major initiatives of the Mid-year Review, the Labour Government has allocated $1.8 billion to a Special Purpose Account for a new Women and Babies Hospital. The location of the new hospital will be at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital Campus and will replace King Edward Memorial Hospital, WA’s only referral centre for complex pregnancies. The Labour Government commenced preliminary planning in the 2019-20 State Budget, having allocated $3.3 million towards the Project which is expected to commence construction in 2023.

Dec 2020 The Mid-year review set aside $1.8 billion for the project. By this stage, preliminary planning had already commenced following the initial investment of $3.3 million in the 2019-20 State Budget.
