This contract covers Asset Management Services for the Sydney Harbour Tunnel and future Western Harbour Tunnel. The scope of the contract includes:
- asset management
- operations
- maintenance, and
- lifecycle services for the two assets.
This contract is also expected to form a key part in supporting the delivery of the Western Harbour Tunnel and Beaches Link program.
The Sydney Harbour Tunnel is maintained and operated under a 30-year concession, which was awarded in 1987, commenced in 1992, and is set to expire in 2022. The Western Harbour Tunnel will link the WestConnex Rozelle Interchange with North Sydney and the future Beaches Link through the Warringah Freeway Upgrade.

PROJECT HISTORY
Aug 2021 | Transport for NSW opened the Registration of Interest (ROI) process for Asset Management Services of the Sydney Harbour Tunnel and future Western Harbour Tunnel, closing on 24 August. Dependent on the number of bidders approved through the ROI phase, Transport for NSW may conduct an Expression of Interest (EOI) phase or opt directly for a detailed Request for Tender (RFT) phase for the procurement. The EOI or RFT phase was expected to begin in September, with the contract award anticipated in the first quarter of 2022. |

Jun 2022 | SNC-Lavalin was awarded an engineering services contract for the project under a long-term services agreement. SNC-Lavalin will provide a range of engineering services to support Ventia during the procurement, design, and construction of the Western Harbour Tunnel. |
