Whyalla Hydrogen Facility - Hydrogen Jobs Plan

The Whyalla Hydrogen Facility, also referred to as the Hydrogen Jobs Plan, is a proposed electrolyser, storage, and  generation project to be located in Whyalla, SA. 

The scope of the works includes delivery of: 

  • a 250 megawatt (MW) hydrogen production facility
  • a 200 MW hydrogen power plant, and 
  • 3,600 tonnes of hydrogen storage. 

Hydrogen Power South Australia, a new government enterprise, has been established to own and operate the hydrogen power plant.

Jun 2022 The South Australian Government announced the project in it 2022/23 Budget.
