The Queensland Government is delivering a new Youth Detention Centre in Woodford, Moreton Bay, to be built within the Woodford Correctional Precinct.
The project is being delivered in stages, with the scope of Stage One of the project comprising:
- 80 beds, across two 40-bed campuses
- accommodation units
- consultation and treatment rooms
- multipurpose spaces for education, skills development and training
- areas for physical activity, green spaces, and
- spaces for cultural connection, faith and spiritual support.
Details are yet to be released on the scope of future stages.

Feb 2024 | The Queensland Government appointed BESIX Watpac the design and construction contract for Stage One of the project. The Government also announced that enabling works had commenced. |
Jan 2025 | In response to Questions on Notice, the Queensland Government announced the expected cost of the project had increased to $982 million, and completion date had been delayed until the end of 2027. |
