Yarrabee Solar Farm

The proposed Yarrabee Solar Farm is a proposed solar farm with up to 900 megawatts (MW) of generation capacity, to be located approximately 23 kilometres south west of Narranderra, NSW. Works as part of the project would also comprise a 330-kilovolt substation.

The project is being developed by Origin Energy, having been originally developed by Reach Solar.

The project will be delivered in two phases, with the first 450 MW phase including two stages, each comprising the delivery of 225 MW of generation. Detail on the second phase has yet to be released.

Planning approval also allows for the development of a Battery Energy Storage System with a capacity of 25 MW. This is not currently in the scope.

Mar 2018 Reach Solar Energy requested the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment Secretary's Environmental Assessment Requirements for the project.
Apr 2018 The project was announced by Reach Solar Energy.
Apr 2018 The NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment Secretary's Environmental Assessment Requirements were issued for the preparation of the Environmental Impact Assessment of the project.
Apr 2022 The solar farm was acquired by Origin Energy from Reach Solar Energy.
